In honor of Global Running Day and June being Pride Month – I took to the ktMINE platform to see if I could find any related IP for a pair of my shoes.

I have been a tried-and-true Nike fan since I can remember. Anyone who knows me…might even classify me as a “sneakerhead.”

Every June, Nike releases the BETRUE capsule collection featuring clothing, SHOES, and accessories with colors to highlight and honor the LGBTQIA+ community during Pride Month. Above you’ll see a picture of the NikeLab Air VaporMax Flyknit BETRUE. Using the ktMINE Search App I discovered the following design patent:

USD814752S – SHOE MIDSOLE WITH TRANSLUCENT RAINBOW COLOR APPEARANCE

Shoe midsole with translucent rainbow color appearance patent

Nike also has a design patent for the regular version of their VaporMax running shoe but pursued a patent on the BETRUE’s custom rainbow sole.

For a little background, I plan to start training for my sixth Chicago Marathon in the coming weeks and will definitely train in Nike’s as well as (hopefully) cross the finish line in a pair. While I won’t be running in the Air VaporMax Flyknit BETRUE (Too nice to mess up!) you can catch me proudly walking around Chicago with them on my feet.

Happy Global Running Day and Pride Month to all.
