Business Development Consultant

After several consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth, ktMINE is seeking a Business Development Consultant (“BDC”) who can contribute to this momentum.  If you are a driven person seeking a fast- paced environment where every employee has a voice and collaborates daily with people who appreciate the contributions that our business development team makes to the company, ktMINE may be the ultimate environment for you.

The BDC has direct responsibility for generating new business prospects in well established and less mature markets through outbound/inbound phone conversations and emails to existing and potential customers. The BDC will be responsible for meeting/exceeding sales and telephone activity target objectives by leveraging existing contact base, networking and prospecting for new opportunities while consistently applying superior relationship management to win competitive opportunities. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, customer relationship, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops sales opportunities through outbound and inbound calls and managing email correspondence from prospective customers
  • Gathers and logs all call information, sale orders, customer feedback and profile activity on Salesforce and other systems
  • Individually manages call lists and market assignments
  • Conducts high volume call activity time efficiently and effectively to meet daily metrics expectations
  • Implement and further develop (with direction from Business Development Managing Director) within each market, specific metrics and targets of success to maximize prospect outreach and on-boarding of new business
  • Must be able to achieve and exceed telephone activity goals and other appropriate metrics
  • Build and maintain one‐on‐one customer relationships via phone, email, and onsite engagements
  • Foster internal relationship with the business development team and other internal teams to help drive company objectives in the areas of Sales, Marketing, and Engineering
  • Understand and document customer feedback to further the value proposition of our data offerings to all users
  • Develop a full understanding of data capabilities to assess areas of opportunities for prospective customers
  • Obtains customer and competitive information during daily contacts
  • Contribute to the existing drive to develop best practices
  • Actively participates in meetings and training sessions
  • Assumes other responsibilities as required or requested by management

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills; ability to organize and present material in an easily understood manner
  • Strong organizational and time management skills coupled with the ability to embrace change
  • Demonstrated knowledge of proper telephone etiquette and professional attitude and integrity
  • Demonstrated sales success preferred
  • Experience in prospecting/cold calling environment preferred
  • Experience in pipeline management in a CRM environment preferred
  • Intellectual property (i.e. patents, licensing agreements) knowledge or experience a plus
  • High energy, positive attitude, with the ability to think creatively on their feet and handle multiple priorities
  • Highly proficient with common software applications including MS Office Suite, web browser functionality, CRM applications (specifically Salesforce)
  • Analytical thinker, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and certifications
  • Willing to be accessible by phone after hours
  • Ability to travel (up to 20%)
